Wildcats Win First

SOUTH WHITLEY - A pivotal third quarter helped the Whitko Wildcat basketball team past Northfield Friday.

The Wildcats turned what was a 22-20 halftime lead into a 47-36 lead after three quarters by outscoring the Norsemen 25-16 in the third quarter. Whitko took care of the ball in the second half, turning the ball over only three times after 11 turnovers in the first half.

The Wildcats also helped themselves at the free-throw line, where they hit 18 of 24 compared to Northfield's 4 of 7.

Shane Henderson, who hit 8 of 9 free throws, paced Whitko with 20 points. Ben Mohr added 12 points and Josh Gonzalez 10.
