Wild Ride Injures Two

Posted

Two people were injured when the driver of this car blacked out, struck another vehicle and went off the road, ending up upside down in a drainage ditch. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Geraldean Howard, 64, of South CR 200W, Silver Lake, was northbound on Ind. 15, north of CR 400S, when she apparently passed out. The driver of the pickup Howard struck said the car swerved into the southbound lane and almost struck the vehicle ahead of his, but missed it and sideswiped his pickup. Toney D. May, 35, of Graceland Avenue, Claypool, was not injured. Howard complained of abdominal pain and a passenger in her car, Mark A. Howard, 30, of Silver Lake, suffered a bruise to his head. Both were treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released. Howard told police that she was suffering from the flu and was on her way to a doctor's office when the 2:21 p.m. accident occurred.
