Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins has been appointed to a seat on the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns executive committee and was named chairman of IACT's audit committee, according to Marilyn Morrison of Warren.

Wiggins has served as Warsaw's mayor since March 1, 1997, and was a four-term third district city councilman.

A Certified Public Accountant since 1980, he is a partner of Ramsey, Wilson & Wiggins Inc. He is also a board member of the Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District.

Wiggins will participate in the development and implementation of major policies and programs affecting the state's 567 municipalities. The group meets five times each year with meetings scheduled at Indianapolis, Bloomington and Warren, where Morrison serves as clerk-treasurer.

The nonprofit association is the largest organization representing municipal government in the state. Its membership includes all 117 Hoosier cities and 363 towns.
