'Whose Line Is It Anyway' Comedians Coming To Honeywell

Posted
WABASH – Mi Tunes 101.9 and 105.9 The Bash welcome “Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood: The Two Man Group” to the Honeywell Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Two masters of improv comedy, Mochrie and Sherwood, of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” have teamed up to present a night of improvisational comedy with their live tour.
Millions of fans enjoyed Mochrie in the triumphant return of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” this past summer when the ABC show moved to the CW network. Due to the high ratings, the show, which will also feature Sherwood, has been renewed for a second season on the CW.
In the live show, Mochrie and Sherwood take contributions from the audience to create hilarious and original scenes. Throughout the evening, the show becomes interactive as audience members are called to the stage to participate in the fun.
Mochrie began his improv career when he teamed up with famous improv actor Ryan Stiles after a mutual friend introduced them. Shortly after performing at Expo ’86, Mochrie moved to Toronto, where he auditioned for The Second City, a famous North American comedy theater. Mochrie, who joined his friend Stiles at The Second City, worked there for three years.
Mochrie’s first appearance on the British version of “Whose Line Is it Anyway?” was in 1991. His role on the American version got off to a rocky start when ABC wanted to drop him from the line-up because TV executives thought Mochrie looked too old and wasn’t hip enough. The show’s producers prevailed, however, and kept Mochrie on the show. Fans agreed, making Mochrie a popular mainstay on the “Whose Line” stage.
Sherwood was a regular cast member on ABC’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” as well as on the British version that aired on Comedy Central. He will be seen on the second season airing on the CW. His other credits include “The Drew Carey Show,” “The Green Screen Show,” more than 100 appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” numerous appearances on VH-1’s “I Love the ’80s and ’90s,” “The Price is Right,” and guest host of “Talk Soup.”
The “Two Man Group: Live and Dangerous Comedy” DVD, released in 2010, is available in stores.
