Who Pays Next?

Editor, Times-Union:

As we have watched one of the major fuel distributors being held hostage by some hackers, our government seemed to be paralyzed. Our president answered to a question about this attack on our country as if it were some kind of deficiency in our education system. He said we need to teach more children in cyber technology ... really! As somebody payed about 5 million in ransom to restart our fuel supply to a crippled eastern coast. I just can’t believe how unattached our federal government seems to be right now.

We watch the sovereignty of our country being thrown into the trash as tens of thousands of illegal aliens cross our borders. Many of which are not stopped by border control, carrying drugs, more usual than not, criminals just getting a third or fourth chance to reek havoc in our country, but someone has to pay.

We watch our health officials play verbal gymnastics with COVID-19 protocols. Have you ever seen a more confused, incoherent message come from a governmental body. They are confused because they can’t get their lies together. They want to keep things shut down, deprive Americans from getting their piece of the dream, while they try to handout money to everyone ... while we have no money, none, zilch!

They try to push through a $2.4 trillion legislation for “infrastructure,” when there is only 600 billion actually for infrastructure in the bill. The rest is for social welfare programs designed on making us dependent on the government. They pulled this stunt when Obama was president. The $870 billion infrastructure bill. You remember, shovel-ready jobs that weren’t shovel-ready. I, today, do not know where this money went to and neither do you.

As someone just paid a ransom for the hacking of one of our major pipelines. As there is an affront to the sovereignty of our southern border. As the Middle East seems to fall apart after the peace Donald Trump negotiated. As we pay for cyber insecurity, the health and welfare of thousands of illegal aliens, the unforgiving taxes which are sure to follow. One can only come to one conclusion.

We can look forward to crushing inflation, jacking up the price for everything from gas to toilet paper. “Who Pays Next” ... our children, and theirs!
