WHITLEY COUNTY - A South Whitley man died from blunt force trauma and not burns in a Saturday evening accident.
Craig Saltsman, 29, of South Whitley, was headed south on CR 950W in Whitley County when his Corvette was struck by a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Andrew Kessie, 19, Columbia City.
A report from Whitley County Sheriff's Department said the nature of Saltsman's injuries were burns.
According to Whitley County Coroner Scott Smith, the cause of death for Saltsman was ruled blunt force trauma to his head and that he most likely died upon impact with Kessie.
No criminal charges have been filed against Kessie. Kessie was issued a citation for disregarding a stop sign.
