Whitko Wildcats Fall To East NobleSOUTH WHITLEY – Despite impressive performances by senior Nate Walpole and sophomore Spencer Sroufe, Whitko’s varsity boys basketball team lost 69-60 to the visiting East Noble Knights Monday. Walpole led the Wildcats with 32 points, while Sroufe finished the game with 11 points, seven rebounds and seven blocks. Junior River West chipped in with nine points and three boards, while junior Brian Collins and senior Colin Craig rounded out the Wildcats’ scoring with six and two points, respectively. East Noble improved to 5-1 on the season, while Whitko fell to 4-4 with its fourth-straight loss. The Wildcats’ previous three games included a six-point loss to West Noble, a double-overtime loss to Wawasee and a four-overtime loss to Tippecanoe Valley. In Monday’s game, East Noble led 22-16 after one quarter of play, 31-19 at halftime and 53-45 at the end of the third. The Wildcats are in action again Dec. 30 in the Kankakee Valley Tournament.
