Whitko Welding Students Earn Ivy Tech Credit

The Welding Technology program at Whitko High School has continued its dual credit status with Ivy Tech Community College.

It means that students enrolled in welding technology classes have the opportunity to earn up to six college semester credit hours while they are in high school. This is the equivalent to two college classes. These credits are valid for Ivy Tech Community College and can be transferred to any state accredited college in Indiana.

These credits are available free of charge to those students that meet the eligibility requirements. Who is eligible for these credits? Any student enrolled in welding technology class at Whitko High School that meets the following criteria. One, the student must be a junior or senior. Two, the student must complete all course objectives with a satisfactory grade for the course.

The following students earned Ivy Tech dual credits in welding technology for the 20011-2012 school year: Cord Feasby, Carlin Dierks, Preston Keim, Ian Pherigo, Brett Ruckman, James Dimmick, Logan Sapp, Joseph Bowers, Jacob Bolinger, Brant Campbell, Michael Sims, Garrett Meadows and Kenny Meadows.
