Whitko Students Win Ad Design ContestStudents in grades 4-12 who live in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio were invited to participate in the 2019 Fort Wayne Newspapers Design an Ad Contest.

Design an Ad links Fort Wayne-area students with the business world. For the contest, three hand-drawn student ads are chosen from each participating business. From those ads, winners are chosen by local advertising professionals in three categories: grades 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Winners at each level will be awarded prizes, and winning ads are published in the April 28 edition of the Journal Gazette.

Over 2,000 students from 30 schools created ads designed to sell today’s top products and services.

Thirty-six Whitko Jr./Sr. High School art students received the honor of advertisers choice finalist in the high school category, out of 40 businesses. Fifteen of these students were picked for honorable mention. One Whitko Jr./Sr. High School art student received second place in the overall awards. Whitko art teacher Daniel Malicki said he is proud of his students’ success and their pursuit for excellence.
