PIERCETON - A special meeting for 6 p.m. Aug. 26 was approved by the Whitko School Board Monday for final budget review and approval.
The total proposed budget is $14,693,080. The majority of the budget - $11,145,559 - is for the general fund, and this year's proposed amount is approximately 4 percent more than last year, said Phil Menzie, business manager for Whitko School Corp.
Other funds and their proposed amounts include $1,557,948 for debt service; $1,021,790 for capital projects; $946,437, transportation; and $21,346, special education.
The board also approved rejecting fuel bids and buying fuel on the open market and scheduled a public meeting for Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. on the lease for the proposed renovation project.
