PIERCETON - Whitko School Board Monday recognized two members, including the board president, whose terms have ended.
Terri Collier, president and eight-year board member, and Marvin Michael, four-year member, received plaques and the thanks of their fellow board members. They were cited for their dedication and exemplary service.
They will be replaced by newly-elected board members Larry Long and Deb Collier.
The board approved 3 percent salary increases and contract extensions for administration and noncertified employees, and approved summer school contracts for teachers and bus drivers.
Lunch fees for the 1998-99 year were not increased.
The board's next meeting was scheduled for 5:15 p.m. July 15; the meeting will include electing new school board officers and will be followed by the regular meeting. That portion of the meeting will include discussion on drug testing and on replacing the middle school roof.
A budget work session was set for 6:15 p.m. July 20.
Both sessions are public meetings.
