SOUTH WHITLEY - Jennifer Bruhler was named valedictorian and Colleen C. Crist is salutatorian for Whitko High School's Class of 1998.
Bruhler earned the distinction by having a grade point average of 12.253 on a scale of 12.0.
Bruhler's high school career has included involvement in Art Club, Explorers, Literary Magazine, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Envirothon Team, Drama Club, SADD and serving as a Koinonia Environmental Mentor.
She plans to attend Purdue University and will major in biology and environmental studies. She would like to be a field biologist or an environmental researcher.
She is the daughter of Sherrie and Ken Bauman and Greg Bruhler.
Colleen C. Crist, salutatorian, has a grade point average of 11.966 on a 12.0 scale.
Her school activities included Drama Club, Speech Team, Spell Bowl, Academic Team, Cross Country, SADD, sunshine Society, National Honor Society and French Club.
She would like to attend a college and major in English, theater arts or chemistry. She would like to be a teacher or a chemist.
