PIERCETON - Whitko School Corp. recently launched its official Web site, www.whitko.org
School Corp. Webmaster Pam Baker said one of the main functions of the site is to provide easy access for parents to their children's grades and homework information, contact with teachers and school news. Baker said the school corporation used to provide access to grades and information through an outside source, but, she said, the new site provides access in a smoother, more straight-forward format."It was just a need, as we look around at other school corporations, for it to be more user-friendly and get news out to parents and the community," Baker said.
Baker said the site has up for about a week. She said, in the future, she expects to see the site develop to suit the needs of the Whitko community. She said, eventually, the site could include more interactive features.
"This is going to evolve, surely," Baker said. "We plan to get more staff and students involved in the Web page."
The site features information on school news and events, links to each building and the different departments within the school corporation, key information on the school corporation's weather procedures, contact information for school staff and links to other Web sites in the Whitko community.
