Nathan Frank, 20, was pronounced dead this morning by the West Lafayette coroner's office. He had fallen from a third-floor window at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house, 690 Waldron St., West Lafayette.
Nathan is the son of Alan and Jo Frank, Syracuse. Alan Frank has been principal of Wawasee High School since 1996 and was a principal in the Whitko school system before that.
According to a statement from the West Lafayette coroner's office, Alan Frank was discovered at 6:15 a.m. today outside the fraternity house. Emergency response teams found him to be unresponsive, the coroner's office said, "determined he was not revivable and the county coroner was notified.
"At this time the investigation is continuing and any attempt at deciding mechanisms of death would be speculative and it is not in the best interests of the family, the fraternity, the university or the agencies involved," the statement said.
The coroner's office also said an autopsy will be conducted today and the results of extensive toxicology tests should be complete by Tuesday.
Nathan was a junior liberal arts major at Purdue.
