Whitko Girls XC Season Ends At Fort Wayne Northrop

FORT WAYNE – Like the boys team, the Whitko girls cross country had its season end Tuesday at the Fort Wayne Northrop Sectional. The second-ranked Carroll Lady Chargers won the sectional with 30 points, while Fort Wayne Concordia (74), No. 23 Homestead (102), Columbia City (125) and No. 25 Fort Wayne Snider (130) also advanced to the West Noble Regional by finishing in the top five. The top three runners at the meet were Concordia’s Marina Konow (18:52), Columbia City’s Samantha Roush (18:55) Carroll’s and Madison Stenger (19:08). The Whitko Lady Wildcats finished 10th in the 11-team field, led by Brigit Nemitz’s 18th-place finish in a time of 20:23. Also for Whitko, Michelle Kelsey was 59th (23:08), Holly Frantz was 65th (23:32), Melanie Kelsey was 67th (23:43), Becca Thomson was 69th (24:02), Courtney Edwards was 73rd (24:21) and Miranda Terrill finished 78th (27:01).
