Playing at Maconaquah High School Friday, the opening round saw Peru defeat Maconaquah 61-24, followed by Whitko’s 52-45 victory over North Miami. In the opening round of the Wabash County Tourn-ament, which is being played at Wabash High School, the Manchester girls basketball team fell 55-30 to Southwood, Friday. The loss leaves the Lady Squires with an 0-9 mark going into today’s 1 p.m. consolation game against Class 2A No. 9 Wabash.
