Whitko Athletic Director Introduced to Board

PIERCETON – Casey Stouffer was introduced as the Whitko athletic director by the Whitko Community School Board Monday.

Whitko High School Principal Dave Parker introduced Stouffer, saying he was really happy to have him and anxious for him to get started.

Superintendent Steve Clason reminded everyone that the position also includes athletic director responsibilities for the middle and elementary schools.

“We’re happy to have him join the family,” Clason said. “We feel he’ll help build athletics.”

Stouffer, recently the assistant athletic director at college of Mount Joseph in Cincinnati, and his wife, Jessica, are Wabash County natives and graduates of South Wood High School.

“I feel that Whitko High School will be a perfect fit because it will allow me to be involved in education and athletics at the high school level,” Stouffer said. “Also, I believe I can help build upon the great reputation that already exists at Whitko.”

He received a bachelor’s degree in education from St. Joseph in 2001 and went on to the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pa., earning a master’s degree in 2010.

While teaching health and physical education classes at Amelia High School in Batavia, Ohio, 2001-2002, he was also head wrestling coach, placed sixth in the World Team Trials for wrestling, was an Ironman World Wrestling champion and Folkstyle World Wrestling Champion.

At Colorado Springs Christian School in Colorado Springs, Colo., 2002-2003, he taught physical education in grades kindergarten through fifth, trained in wrestling at the Olympic Training Center and was the local high school’s wrestling coach.

At Lewis-Palmer High School, Scranton, Pa., 2003-2007, he taught health and physical education and was head wrestling coach.

At St. Joseph, 2007-2012, he was also the head wrestling coach and an adjunct professor, developing online live streaming for athletic team events. He was a four-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Team Champions, four-time Heartland collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and two-time Mid-State Coach of the Year.
