WHA Reports Completed Projects

Warsaw Housing Authority board members discussed projects completed in November Monday.

Pam Kennedy, Housing Opportunities of Warsaw executive director, said volunteers installed energy-efficient light bulbs in 120 Claypool homes Nov. 10. The volunteers also installed weatherization kit materials in the homes.

Kosciusko Community Foundation donated $3,216.94 for weatherization kits, Kennedy said.

The kits include window and outlet covers. The materials protect from winter elements by keeping warm air in and cold air outside the home.

Kennedy said Embarq employees installed a handicapped-accessible ramp on a Warsaw couples' home Nov. 16.

The project was part of the Mobile Home Remedies Program organized by Housing Opportunities of Warsaw. It was funded by Kosciusko 21st Century Foundation and United Way of Kosciusko County.

Kennedy said an accountant will attend WHA's December meeting to discuss the organization's financial statements for 2007.

A WHA housing program report was reviewed with 169 housing vouchers awarded in October.

The board will meet again Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. at the housing office.
