Wendell “Ed” Cook, 70, of Retired Tigers, 320 W. Main St., Apt. 211, Warsaw, passed away at 1:25 a.m. April 19, 2011, in his residence. He was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Warsaw, to Paul O. and Mabel Lackey Cook. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he did cabinetry and was a self-employed carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was a 1958 graduate of Mentone High School and loved computers and woodworking. He will be missed by his daughter, Melissa Fox, Mansfield, Texas; a brother, David Cook, Leesburg; a sister, Elaine (and spouse Paul) Evans, Fort Wayne; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chris Cook; a brother, Joseph Cook; and two sisters, Gloria Moore and Dixie Stabler. A remembrance gathering will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Retired Tigers, 320 W. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be at Cooks Chapel Cemetery, Warsaw.
