MariJean Wegert, an English major and junior at Grace College, Winona Lake, has earned an honorable mention for her essay "The Inklings and the Paradox of Friendship," awarded by the 2010 Frances White Ewbank Colloquium on C.S. Lewis and Friends at Taylor University, Upland.
Wegert's essay was chosen as one of eight finalists from among more than 50 undergraduate entrants from colleges across the country. Seven, including Wegert's, were selected for honorable mention, and one was selected as this year's winner.Wegert originally wrote the essay for her course on C.S. Lewis at Grace College, taught by professor Frank Benyousky.
Wegert and the other finalists have been invited to attend the Colloquium free of charge to present their work.
The Colloquium will be hosted by Taylor University June 3-6 and honors Dr. Ewbank, who pioneered the study of C.S. Lewis at Taylor.
