NORTH WEBSTER - Residents of the town and township finally sent in enough income survey cards for the town to forward an application to the Indiana Department of Commerce for a $475,000 Comunity Focus Fund grant.
If approved, the money will go toward renovation of the former elementary school on Ind 15, sold to the North Webster Community Center Inc. last spring for $1.
The income survey came in with 54.6 percent of the households qualifying as low to moderate income and 51.2 percent of people having low to moderate incomes, according to Bob Murphy of RP Murphy and Associates, Larwill.
"I need letters of support from everyone in the community who supports having a new library, a community center, a senior citizens' center, YMCA programs and a youth center," Murphy said.
Letters of support should be sent to the town hall, P.O. Box 95, North Webster, by Wednesday.
Town clerk Peg Lawrance said the town council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to adopt a resolution authorizing the application.
