Webster Says Thanks For Scout ProjectNORTH WEBSTER - Eagle Scout Ben Johnson thanked the board for allowing him to complete is Eagle Project, which was cleaning up the Tippecanoe Township North Webster Cemetery.
Johnson completed cleaning debris from the area, removed an old fence and posts, trimmed branches and raked. He also painted curbs.
Board president, John Sroufe said, "We should be thanking you."
Police Chief Greg Church commended Johnson on his efforts saying, "It is nice to work with such a nice and respectful young man."Greg Gear, utilities superintendent, reported the town and Epworth Forest are working together to find where the water collection system needs improvement. They are pursuing the idea of doing a "smoke test" which would locate leaks in the system.
Gear also thanked the board for the new utility truck recently purchased. He is confident that the new vehicle will be functional and came in $10,000 less than anticipated.
The North Webster Police Department answered 321 calls including 101 traffic, six drug related, four criminal mischief, and three battery.
A new coat of stain will be applied on the park decks, and flowers should be planted within the week.
