One rezoning petition before the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission was approved Wednesday, while two preliminary plat petitions were continued to the June 6 meeting.
Robert and Nancy Brown petitioned to rezone property on the north side of Crystal Flash Road and 650 feet west of Ind. 13 in Tippecanoe Township from an agricultural to a residential district.
Nancy Brown told the commission she and her husband are thinking of selling the property. However, to sell it, they need to have it zoned residential.
The board unanimously approved the rezoning. The petition will go before the North Webster town council May 16 at 7 p.m. for final approval.
Bruce Cavell's petition for preliminary plat approval for a residential development on a tract of ground was continued at Cavell's request.
Larry Huffer's preliminary plat petition was continued after neighbors of the property expressed their concerns about erosion, drainage, people trespassing on their property and access to the lake.
The 16.2-acre tract is on the south side of CR 400N and 470 feet east of CR 700E in Tippecanoe Township.
By continuing the petition, the commission hopes the neighbors and Huffer can work out their difference.
Three final plats were approved, including:
Revised replat for Brandy Wine Lane, off B40A Lane, northeast side of Banning Lake. The plat is already on record but minor corrections regarding the dimensions of the lots and acreage of lots were made.
Replat of the Stephen F. Buchanan property, one-fourth mile west of Country Club Road, Tippecanoe Lake area. The plat was revised from three lots to a two-lot subdivision.
Commercial plat for Pioneer Place, a one-lot 8.5-acre tract, north on Ind. 15.
