LIGONIER - A North Webster man was killed in a crash in Noble County Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 6.
Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jerry Burkhead, 39, North Webster, was driving on U.S. 6 near CR 600W when he rear-ended a car in front of him stopped for traffic. The car was driven by Shelly Sabin, 31, of Wawaka.
According to the Indiana State Police, Burkhead died from blunt-force trauma injuries.
Sabin and her 13-year-old son were injured in the crash. Sabin complained of pain but refused treatment and her son was transported to Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville with stomach pain.
Police do not know if alcohol, drugs or a medical condition were involved in the accident, which remains under investigation.
