A North Webster man faces two to eight years in prison after being convicted Tuesday of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Derek Fleckenstein, 22, of 312 Crystal Flash Road #13, was found guilty in Kosciusko Circuit Court of having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female.
In Indiana, a person over age 21 cannot have sexual intercourse with a person under age 16, even if the act is consentual. The offense is a Class C felony.
Jurors in the case deliberated about one hour before rendering their verdict at the close of the one-day trial.
After the verdict was read, Fleckenstein's bond was revoked and he was taken into custody to await sentencing, which is set for 9:20 a.m. Feb. 15.
