A Wawasee High School student was injured this morning when he lost control of his car and hit a tree along Hoss Hill Road, about two miles east of Epworth Forest Road. Officials said Curtis Valentine, 17, of Asbury Lane, North Webster, was northbound on the dirt road and may have been driving too fast. Valentine's car caught fire after impact and he was pulled from the vehicle by passersby. He suffered unspecified injuries and was airlifted from the parking lot of the North Webster United Methodist Church on Epworth Forest Road, near North Webster. He was listed in good condition at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, late this morning. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
