NORTH WEBSTER - Town council members approved the Music in the Park schedule Wednesday.
Entertainers perform on Fridays at 7 p.m. in Ziegler Park. Appearing will be: the Northeast Indiana Banjo Society, Roarin' '20s razz-ma-tazz, June 2; Auburn Dixielanders, Dixieland at its best, June 9; Lynn Beer, local vocalist, June 16; Lake Area Community Band, June 23; Grassy Creek Cloggers, with fireworks following, July 1, beginning at 7:30 this evening only; Rick Lovelady's Banjos, one-man string band, July 7; M. Lynn Gray, local vocalist, July 14; Chain O' Lakes Chorus, barbershop, nostalgia, humor, July 21; Shelly Sanders, local vocalist, July 28; Becky Brady, local vocalist, Aug. 4; Auburn Brass Quintet, semi-classical, Aug. 11; Shakin' Hammers, string band, Aug. 18; and Sax Maniacs, Ragtime, Dixie, light classic, Aug. 25.
The council members held a short meeting approving the hiring of Paul Earst and Kent Renner at the sewage treatment plant. The two had been working under a contract.
The board also gave the nod to a youth concert on the Lion's Club grounds as requested by Paul Eagle of the Church of God.
Those attending the meeting were reminded that the Ball State University School of Architecture students will conduct a charrette Thursday, Friday and Saturday in cooperation with the North Webster - Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce.
The students will interview community groups and citizens in Pilcher's Shoe Store.
A final report and presentation will be held in the North Webster United Methodist Church April 20 at 7 p.m.
The next regular board meeting will be May 17.
Town council members are Kay Andrews, Ken Wagoner and Jeff Morgan. Cathy Craig served as clerk for Peg Lawrance, who was absent.
