Warsaw Community Schools made the College Board's Advance Placement District Honor Roll
According to an Indiana Department of Education press release Wednesday, nine Indiana school districts were named to the Honor Roll for their increased AP participation and performance.
The Honor Roll is a roster of districts that have simultaneously expanded AP opportunities and improved student performance. The recognition is based on three years of AP data, from 2008 to 2010. Districts are eligible if they have increased AP access by at least 4 percent in large districts, 7 percent in medium districts and 11 percent in small districts.
AP exam performance levels must be maintained or improved when comparing the percentage of exams with a score of three or higher from 2008 to 2010. In addition, districts must maintain or increase the percentage of minority students taking AP exams.
"The students, teachers and administrators in each of these districts have worked extremely hard to earn this impressive distinction," Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett said in a press release. "I commend them for their commitment to college and career readiness and congratulate them on their success."
Besides Warsaw, the other Indiana districts making the Honor Roll include Carmel Clay Schools, New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corp., School City of Hammond, School Town of Munster, Tri-Central Community Schools, Western Boone County Community School District, Yorktown Community Schools and Zionsville Community Schools.
