Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) recently hosted the Tiger Ambassadors Lunch n' Learn event on Thursday focusing on pivotal themes of school safety, facility planning and board leadership.
The initial segment of the lunch focused on school safety. Tiger Ambassadors heard from a panel of school resource officers who provided comprehensive insights into the procedures and protocols in place at WCS. The ambassadors were informed about various aspects of school safety, including training, collaboration with local authorities, rotation of officers, visitor management, ALICE drills and the importance of maintaining secure facilities, according to a news release from WCS.
Facility planning was another key area covered. This part of the luncheon offered a detailed overview of how WCS plans and finances building projects and upgrades, informed by a 10-year rolling facility plan. The ambassadors gained understanding about decision-making processes, future projects and WCS’s goals centered on safety, security and creating innovative learning spaces.
