WCPL Holds Photography Contest

The Warsaw Community Public Library held its fifth annual amateur photography contest. There were 71 entries. The grand prize and first-place winner (pictured) in the color category was ‘Cracked Beauty’ by Emily Propp. Second place was ‘November’ by Steve Olsen. Third place was ‘Mountain Pasture’ by Steve Olsen. In the black-and-white category, first-place ‘Engine 765’ was by Jim McLean. Second place went to Connie Ashenfelter for ‘Grandma's Hands’. Third-place ‘Wheel’ was by Amber Graves. Grand prize was a 16-inch by 24-inch canvas package donated by Blosser's Camera Portrait Studio. Other prizes were gift cards from Walmart. Judges were Desiree Meadows, Blosser's Camera Portrait Studio; Gary Nieter, Times-Union; and Rick Zydek, Photography Unlimited. The photographs will be on display downstairs in the Hall of Fame ramp and upstairs in the adult area at Warsaw Community Public Library through Jan. 31.
