Warsaw Community Public Library held its sixth annual amateur photography contest recently. There were 41 entries. Pictured is grand prize and first place winner Ansel Hygema in the black and white category ‘A Road to Nowhere.’ Second place was ‘The Contortionist’ by Jim Davis. Third place was ‘Coming Home’ by Steve Olsen. In the color category first place was ‘Horseshoe Bend, Az.” by Deepak Grover; second place went to Scott Shipley for ‘The Great Blue’ and third place was ‘Sentiment of Light’ by Phyllis Davis. Grand prize was a 16 by 24 foot canvas package donated by Blosser’s Camera Portrait Studio. Other prizes were gift cards from Meijer. Judges were: Nicole Vercauteren, Blosser’s, Gary Nieter, Times-Union and Bob List, Bob List Photography. The photographs will be on display downstairs in the Hall of Fame ramp and upstairs in the adult area at the library through Jan. 31.
