WCN Run/Walk For Hunger 5K Raises $6KWorld Compassion Network held its 3rd annual Run/Walk for Hunger 5K on March 26. Again this year, runners and walkers enjoyed the venue in Winona Lake and the Greenway Trail. This event has become one of the largest 5K runs in the area with more than 500 participants. Participants braved the cold weather to have fun, get ready for spring activities, and to come together to serve the community. Although people participate in the event for many different reasons, all net proceeds go to provide food and services to those in need in the community. The net proceeds for this year's event totaled $6,000. WCN shared donations with three local charities: Combined Community Services, The Salvation Army, and Our Father's House. People who didn't have the opportunity to contribute to this year's event, can still do so by wearing a T-shirt from the race. People can wear one of the t-shirts for a $10 donation.
