The Warsaw Community High School Graduation Coaching program collected unused Christmas and holiday cards.
Then on Veterans Day, the entire WCHS student body filled out the cards for current servicemen. Hoosiers Helping Heroes is sending out care packages to soldiers, and the cards will go with those packages.
HHH was formed in fall 2006 with the "mission of care gifting to our Indiana soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who are currently deployed in hot zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan." Packages are sent every 30 days of the soldiers’ deployment, and to date HHH has sent more than 6,000 care packages overseas.
Tuesday morning, Montana Speicherwimer, (front row, L) co-founder of Hoosiers Helping Heroes, and Rose Anthony (front row, R) picked up the box of cards from the Graduation Coaching classes (pictured in back). Pictured handing over the box are seniors Philander Shepherd (front row, second from left) and Dylan White (front row, second from right).
