WCHS Students Score High At Art Contest

Posted
Three Warsaw Community High School students scored high at the 2008 Scholastic Art Awards competition.

Renee Troup was awarded a Gold Key in photography. Daniel Beeson won a Gold Key for animation and an honorable mention for video/film. Heather Piper received an honorable mention in painting.

The Gold Keys go on to be judged at the national level.

In addition to the individual entries, the seniors in Studio Art also submitted their complete portfolios to be judged. This is a chance for students to pull together their finest pieces and package them into a well-organized and thoughtful presentation of their body of work. These also are used for scholarship applications and for entrance into fine arts programs.

Annie Bussell and Ande Myers were awarded Silver Keys for their portfolios. Honorable mention was given to Daniel Beeson, Luis Valencia and Chelsea Null.

The exhibit was on display at the Warner Gallery at the South Bend Century Center for the past two weeks.
