Warsaw Community High School students are facing criminal marijuana and paraphernalia charges following a Thursday morning drug search, according to a Friday night press release from Warsaw Police Department. Warsaw Community School system coordinated a random K-9 drug search with WPD at WCHS. K-9s were used to sniff lockers, classrooms and vehicles throughout the school campus. The K-9s alerted on two vehicles in the school parking lot. A subsequent search found illegal activity in the vehicles, the report stated. Both vehicles contained marijuana and paraphernalia. An unspecified number of students connected to the vehicles are facing criminal charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Warsaw police were unavailable for additional information. Assisting the WPD K-9 unit were WPD school resource officers, Winona Lake police, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police. WPD continues to work closely with Warsaw Community Schools to provide a safe and drug free atmosphere for learning, according to the release.
