WCHS PAC Will Feature Kids Circus

Posted
Russian American Kids Circus is coming to town.

The performance group is a fully staged professional production whose stars are all children between 6 and 16 years old. A circus like no other, they transform performing skills into a circus spectacular on a theatrical stage.

Their performances fill the air with a blur of spangles, dazzling audiences with flying acrobatics, synchronized unicycling, artful juggling, daring aerial feats, precision acts of balancing, entertaining clown segments and the magic of black lights.

All routines are performed using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment in the old-world hallowed tradition of the circus.

Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center is presenting the circus group Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. Seating is reserved, and tickets are all $12.50. To purchase tickets, call or visit the box office at 574-371-5040. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WCHS PAC is co-sponsoring the show with Zimmer.

In 1994, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Alex Berenchtein, former Moscow Circus star, along with his wife Regina and mother-in-law Olga Partigul, opened up the non-profit academy "The New Way Circus Center Inc." The development of the performing theatrical circus skills in a supportive, educational and entertaining environment became for the students a vital means of artistic self-expression. The advanced students formed the performing troupe, which came to be known as The Russian American Kids Circus on Stage.

The group has performed more than 1,500 national and international performances in 34 states, Canada and British Virgin Islands. They have performed with or shared a stage with celebrities such as Bill Cosby, Whitney Houston, Joan Rivers and Ray Charles.

The New York Times has said, "The Russian/American Kids Circus on Stage makes spirits soar and crowds roar."

Newsday said, "And the Grand Finale ... Well, it has to be seen to be believed."
