WCHS Music Dept. Will Present 'Drum Enchanted Evening'

The Warsaw Community High School Music Department will present "Drum Enchanted Evening" May 27.
The concert will feature the WCHS Percussion Ensemble, WCHS Jazz Band and special guest artist Daniel Moore, percussion area head at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Moore is an internationally known educator, as well as a composer and performer of contemporary jazz and world percussion music. He has performed throughout the U.S. and across the world in such international venues as Mexico, South America, China and the island of Malta. Moore's travels have brought him to Warsaw Community Schools before - twice as a member of the "Britain/ Moore" Percussion Duo and once as a solo artist.
As director of the University of Iowa Percussion Department, Daniel Moore is responsible for the many elements of the program, which encompasses steel drum bands, traditional ethnic styles, jazz improvisation, electronic music and many other areas of percussion performance. He is a Yamaha national performing artist and also endorses Innovative Percussion, and Sabian cymbals.
Yamaha, Innovative Percussion, Sabian, Quinlan and Fabish Music Company and The Ramada Inn of Warsaw have all provided support for Moore's appearance at this concert.
"Drum Enchanted Evening" will feature Moore performing as a soloist as well as in tandem with the WCHS Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Band.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. May 27 in the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
