One hundred WCHS students who had perfect attendance during the 2002-03 school year were eligible to win a 1995 Silver Buick Regal two-door car, courtesy of Bart's Car Store Inc. This year's winner was John M. Miller (top photo, far left).

Winning laptop computers with printers, donated by Biomet, were senior John Robertson (top photo, far right) and sophomore Emily Lloyd (top photo, C). Their names were drawn randomly from all students with an 'A' grade point average. An 'A' GPA is 10.0 or higher on a 12-point scale.

Warsaw Police Department Officer Terry Polston received the Warsaw Community High School 'Going the Extra Mile' award from representatives of the student body.

According to WCHS Principal Jennifer Brumfield, the award was established by the students of the school to recognize Polston for all he has done for the students and staff at the school.

He was presented with a plaque with his name on it that featured a worn-out ceramic shoe, showing the right path for all to take. WCHS students raised $1,000 for the award.

Upon receiving the award, DARE Officer Polston was visibly shaken and said, 'This had to be the best-kept secret in Warsaw.' He thanked everyone for all their love and support, saying, 'You guys don't know what you mean to me.'
