Warsaw Community High School will celebrate its sixth annual World Language Week with WCHS world language teachers and students March 28 to April 1. According to a press release from Warsaw Community Schools, the goal of World Language Week is to inspire students to continue their study of world languages and to enrich them through diverse cultural activities and cuisine. A highlight is the WLW breakfast from 6:50 to 7:35 a.m. March 30 in the WCHS black box. World language students will be able to sample a variety of cultural cuisine including Chinese, Hispanic, French, Italian, German, Polish and American dishes. The breakfast will be served by WCS world language teachers in partnership with members of community organizations including OrthoWorx and Grace College. Another highlight of the week is the third annual World Language Week Fair in the WCHS Career Center Gym April 1 during the school day. Students will participate in a variety of hands-on cultural activities led by WCHS world language teachers and community members. Activities will include French painting, German games, mosaic making, Chinese games, papel picado and a chance for students to model cultural garments from a vast array of cultures. The week also will be celebrated with daily announcements and an international literary/cultural display by the WCHS media center.
