I want to publicly congratulate Wayne Township trustee-elect Jeannie Stackhouse and her soon-to-be sworn in advisory board consisting of Gordon Nash, Josh Spangle and Bruce Woodward. They have an important job to do. Wayne Township trustee and board can add much to the strength and vitality of the greater Warsaw area. My participation in the Shari Benyousky campaign for Wayne trustee alerted me to the potential for doing much more with our Wayne Township tax dollars, and we alerted the voting public to some of the opportunities we saw.
The political campaign is over now. It is in your hands, residents of Wayne Township, to ensure that your township trustee creates maximum value for all from your tax payments. I suggest Wayne Township residents frequently offer constructive suggestions to Jeanie Stackhouse and her board. I will start by suggesting more frequent, regular and public Wayne Township board meetings, like so many other of our local government offices currently do. These meetings will be covered by the press and in this way we can all stay informed of the important work the Wayne Township trustee does for its constituents.
