Wayne A. Becker

PLEASANT LAKE – Wayne A, Becker, 76, passed away Nov. 30, 2012, in Lutheran Life Village, Kendallville. He was born May 29, 1936, in Kendallville, to Warren and Wilma Gongwer Becker. On May 26, 1955, in Hudson, he married Judy C. Hughes, who survives. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Pleasant Lake, after 31 years and was a farmer and a printer. He graduated from Salem Center High School. Also surviving are his stepmother, Leona Becker, Kendallville; his children: Susan (and spouse the Rev. Alan) Kubow, Sheboygan; Jeff (and spouse Beth) Becker, Leesburg; Sheryl (and spouse Mike) Ridgway, Portland, Ind.; Sandy Becker, Angola; and Jay Becker, Wolcottville; two brothers, Floyd Becker, Fort Wayne, and Dennis Becker, Angola; a sister, Phyllis Casselman, Kendallville; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Lloyd, and a daughter-in-law, Diane Becker. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, CR 12 west of Ind. 327, Corunna, with Pastor Al Wingfield officiating. Burial will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery. Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
