SYRACUSE – Junior Aubrey Schmeltz carded an 82 to lead the Lady Warriors to the title in the Wawasee Invitational at South Shore Golf Club Saturday. Wawasee’s 356 was 51 shots better than runner-up Concord. Whitko had a team score of 468 and finished sixth in the tournament. Kylee Rostochak turned in a 90, Maklyla Mawhorter and Madison Beaman each shot 92 and Kamryn Foy had a 97 for Wawasee. “Aubrey shot a nice 39 on the front nine,” said Wawasee head coach Steve Coverstone via fax. “Five girls in the 90s or below shows we have depth.” Wawasee’s junior varsity turned in a team score of 460, good for fourth place overall. Saturday in Andrews Manchester finished third in Saturday’s Wabash County Match at Etna Acres Golf Course. Kelsey Eichenauer paced the Lady Squires with a 94, followed by Lydia Little’s 105. Next up for Manchester is a trip to Syracuse to take on Wawasee tonight.
