MIDDLEBURY – Wawasee qualified for the Northern Lakes Conference boys swimming finals in nine different events, and Warsaw in eight different races, at the conference preliminaries Thursday at Northridge. The Warriors’ Brady Robinson was the top qualifier in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Logan Brugh moved on in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, and Jared Krugman advanced to the finals in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. All three Warrior relay teams advanced to Saturday’s finals. Warsaw’s Ethan Cook is the top seed in the 50 freestyle, and qualified in the 100 freestyle. Adam Doyle advanced in the 100 and 200 freestyle, and Nick Zogbi in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Matt Wildman will compete in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke on Saturday. Two of three Tiger relays advanced; the 200 freestyle relay team was disqualified. Saturday’s finals begin with diving at 9 a.m. and the swimming finals starting at 1 p.m. at Northridge.
