BOURBON – The Wawasee softball team defeated Triton 5-1 Thursday in Bourbon. Wawasee senior Gabi Routson got the win inside the circle, pitching a complete game, striking out 14 and surrendering just three hits. The Lady Warriors were led by junior Madi Anderson’s 2-for-3 game, knocking in one run and scoring another herself. Also for Wawasee, junior Kylie Norris, freshman Alli Ousley and freshman Priscilla Weikert each posted an RBI as well. Triton is back at home Saturday for an 11 a.m. doubleheader against Argos, while Wawasee’s next game is Monday against Fairfield in Syracuse. BASEBALL Thursday in Syracuse Hosting the Wabash Apaches Thursday night, the Wawasee baseball team fell 5-1. Senior Joe Fleagle was hit with the loss, striking out seven in the process. At the plate, Gabe Rhoades drove in the Warriors lone run. The 2-1 Warriors host Fairfield Saturday at noon. Thursday in South Bend The Triton baseball team was hit with a 5-3 loss Thursday night at South Bend Riley. Triton’s Bryson Mosier pitched the first five innings, striking out six and giving up five runs, then left with the scored tied at 3-3. The Riley Wildcats then got to Triton reliever Keita Morikawa, posting two runs in the sixth inning, capitalizing on four walks. Drew Fleagle went 2 for 3 in the loss with an RBI. The 1-2 Trojans are at Plymouth tonight, where the junior varsity begins at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity game.
