Wawasee teachers picketed in front of the Wawasee School Corp. administration building Monday. The teachers have been working under last year's contract, but a tentative agreement was reached Monday night between the corporation's administration and the teachers' union, Wawasee Community Educators Association. According to Superintendent Mark Stock, both sides agreed not to release details until the members of WCEA and the school board have a chance to review the agreement. If the WCEA members ratify the agreement, it will go before the Wawasee School Board at the next meeting for approval. If the school board approves the agreement, details of the agreement will then be released, he said. A mediator was provided by the state Monday to help the sides reach a settlement.
