SYRACUSE – Wawasee junior Amber Lemberg allowed just one single in seven innings of work, and senior Kylee Rostochak drove in Madi Wilson in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was just enough for the Lady Warriors to claim a 1-0 win over visiting Plymouth, and the outright Northern Lakes Conference softball title. Danielle Gunkel doubled in the game, and Kayla White added a pair of singles for Wawasee. Lemberg struck out eight Lady Pilgrims while walking three. In the junior varsity contest, Bethany Flanery and Leah deSomer hit home runs in Wawasee’s 16-6 win over Plymouth. The Lady Warriors (20-4, 10-1 NLC) will have one more chance to celebrate the conference crown at home, when they host Goshen on Monday night.
