Wawasee Swimmers Sweep Memorial In NLC Meet

ELKHART – Wawasee’s boys and girls swim team swept Elkhart Memorial in Northern Lakes Conference competition Tuesday, with the boys capturing a 129-54 decision and the ladies winning 110-73.
Double winners for the Warriors were senior Logan Brugh in the 100 and 200 freestyle, and sophomore Brady Robinson in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke.
The Lady Warriors had three double-winners: junior shelby Adams in the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle, senior Kayla Hershberger in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and junior Paige Miller in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
The boys team is now 1-1 on the season and in the NLC, while the Lady Warriors are 3-0 and 2-0 in the conference. Their next meet is Dec. 8 at Concord.

The Argos Dragons had three players in double figures, took an early lead and never looked back in a 51-38 win over visiting Tippecanoe Valley.
Viking junior Alec Craig had a game-high 19 points and led Tippecanoe Valley with five rebounds. The Vikings hit twice as many three-pointers as the Dragons, with Craig making three, but Argos made six more shots from the field overall and four more free throws than Valley.
Valley, now 0-2, will travel to Knox for a game at 7:45 Friday night.

Josh McDaniel led Lakeland Christian Academy with 16 points, including four three-pointers, in a 62-52 road loss to Bethany Christian near Goshen.
Nine different players scored for the Cougars, including Noah Twombly, Jake Harmon and Carter Twombly with six points each and Jon Harmon, Landon Twombly and Conner Blum with five points each.
Now 0-2, Lakeland will travel to Hamilton to take on the Marines at 7:30 Saturday night.

Wawasee fell behind by six after the first quarter, then West Noble pulled away in the third quarter in the Lady Chargers’ 44-29 home win over the Lady Warriors.
Hannah-Marie Lamle, Hannah Haines and Kylee Rostochak scored six points each to lead Wawasee. West Noble’s Paige Shearer was the only double-digit scorer in the game with 14 points.
The Lady Warriors (2-5) open Northern Lakes Conference play Dec. 8 when they host Northridge.
