MIDDLEBURY – Wawasee Warrior swimmers qualified for the Northridge Sectional finals in six events, and will send 20 swimmers back to the Raider pool between championship and consolation rounds on Saturday.
Brady Robinson qualified as the No. 2 seed in both the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Spencer Lehman is the fourth seed in the 500 freestyle and the No. 5 seed in the 200 freestyle. Jared Krugman advanced as the sixth seed in the 200 IM and the eighth seed in the 100 breaststroke.
Ethan Knepp is the sixth seed in the 100 freestyle.
Brett Willaman will swim in the consolation races in the 100 and 200 freestyles, and Owen Donahoe in the 500 free and the 100 breaststroke. Jake Cowan advanced to the consoles in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Knepp made the consolation round in the 50 freestyle, and Aaron Troutman did likewise in the 500 free.
The top eight finishers in each race will compete for the championship and the next eight qualified for the consolation races. Two alternates were designated in each individual race.
Diving begins at 9 a.m. Saturday with the racing finals beginning at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, and consider taking the shuttle from the middle school to the pool. A choir competition taking place at the same time as the swim meet is expected to make parking difficult.
