Wawasee Sister Duo Advances Out Of State Prelims

    INDIANAPOLIS — The preliminary round of the Indiana State Girls Swimming Finals is in the book.
    Following prelim action at IUPUI’s Natatorium in Indianapolis, Wawasee’s Brittany Robinson and Breanna Robinson are on to today’s finals, as are Wawasee senior Karla Allen and the Lady Warriors’ 400 free relay.
    With the top eight qualifiers out of the prelims qualifying for today’s championship heat , freshman Breanna Robinson will compete in the 200 free and 100 free, while senior Brittany Robinson will take part in the 100 fly and 100 back.
    Brittany Robinson will go into both of her events as the No. 1 seed, while Breanna Robinson is the No. 2 seed in the 200 free and third seed in the 100 free.
    During the prelims, the ninth to 16th-place finishers advance to today’s consolation heat, where Allen will compete in the 100 fly and the 400 free relay of the Robinson sisters, senior Sarah Steele and senior Sarah Rozow will also compete.
    In the 100 fly, Allen finished the prelims with the 14th-fastest time, while the 400 free relay was 13th.
    Wawasee’s 200 free relay of Rozow, freshman Kendra Miller, Steele and Breanna Robinson just missed the finals cut, placing 17th.
    Also at the prelims, Warsaw’s 200 free relay of Claire Wack, Margot Rheinhardt, Jessica Sweatland and Erica Gauger finished 30th and Ashley VanWormer was 29th in the 100 breast.
