NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON SUPERINTENDENT CONTRACT EXTENSION The Board of School Trustees of the Wawasee Community School Corporation, a public school corporation organized under the laws of the State of Indiana, will convene a public meeting on October 13, 2015 at 5:30 P.M. at the Wawasee High School, Warrior Room, #1 Warrior Path, Bldg. 1, Syracuse, Indiana 46567. The purpose of the public meeting is to comply with Indiana Code Section 20-26-5-4.3, which requires that at least seven (7) days before a contract for employment is entered into by a governing body and a school superintendent, the governing body shall hold a public meeting on the proposed contract at which time public comment is heard. The proposed Addendum related to the Superintendent’s contract is available at the Wawasee Community School Corporation Central Office at #1 Warrior Path, Bldg. 2, Syracuse, Indiana 46567 and at the Wawasee Community School Corporation website: www.wawasee.k12.in.us. The proposed Superintendent contract would provide for the following: 1. The term of the agreement is three years, from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2018. 2. The base salary of the Superintendent is proposed at One Hundred Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty One Dollars. 3. The work year shall be based on 260 days. 4. Leave days of four personal days, twenty personal vacation days, six personal business days, and the Superintendent will have all benefits as negotiated for teachers under Article IV (Leaves) and Article V (Emergency Sick Leave Bank). Twelve sick days shall be allowed per year of service, cumulative without limit. Vacation days are accrued at 1.67 per month and ten days may be carried over to the following year. Accumulated vacation days above thirty days shall be transferred to sick leave. 5. Family medical insurance shall be provided per the WCEA/WCSC Master Agreement. An additional Four Thousand One Hundred Thirty Dollars and Twenty Six Cents per year shall be provided for family medical insurance. Dental, vision, and long term disability insurance shall be provided at the cost of One Dollar per year per coverage under a corporation policy. A One Hundred Thousand Dollar term life insurance policy shall be provided at the cost of One Dollar to the Superintendent. Five Hundred Dollars will be paid toward the purchase of a Fifty Thousand Dollar Universal Life policy. The Corporation will provide One Hundred Thousand Dollars of liability insurance. 6. An annual deposit of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars shall be deposited into a 403(b) plan account. The Wawasee Community School Corporation shall pay the 3% administrator contribution to the Indiana State Teacher Retirement Fund. 7. An annual cell phone allowance of Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars shall be provided along with an annual vehicle allowance of Eight Thousand Four Hundred Dollars.
